About Us

Hudson Valley New York Black Nurses Association, Inc. is a non-profit organization incorporated with the National Black Nurses Association, Inc., representing nurses.


Counties/Areas/Regions:
The Hudson River Valley region in New York encompasses several counties, generally grouped into three areas: the Upper, Middle, and Lower Hudson Valley. The main counties are Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Ulster, Westchester, and Rockland. Sullivan County is included due to its proximity to the Hudson Valley.

Purpose:
HVNYBNA confirms our commitment to our population, communities, engagement, and development of nurses through mentoring, coaching, sponsorship, and allyship.

Chapter Mission:
Teach, advocate, and advance the health of the communities and nursing professionals we serve.

NBNA Mission:
To serve as the voice for Black nurses and diverse populations, ensuring equal access to professional development, promoting educational opportunities, and improving health.

Vision:
Empowering each nurse and improving our communities for better health while achieving excellence in care.

Founded in 2022, the organization was incorporated into the National Black Nurses Association, Inc. (NBNA) in March 2023 and presented at the NBNA conference in July of that year.
